Stefan Aykut elected as member of the DFG's Permanent Senate Commission on Fundamental Issues of Biological Diversity

CSS director Prof. Dr. Stefan Aykut has been elected as a member of the Permanent Senate Commission on Fundamental Issues of Biological Diversity by the Senate of the DFG (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft).
The Permanent Senate Commission on Fundamental Issues of Biological Diversity (Ständige Senatskommission für Grundsatzfragen der biologischen Vielfalt, SKBV) functions as an independent, interdisciplinary expert forum, continually evaluating and presenting new scientific findings in terms of their societal and political significance. The Commission also advises DFG bodies, government and society on heavily debated topics relating to biodiversity and prepares position papers on behalf of the DFG.
The members of the Commission are selected as scientists ad personam on the basis of their expertise.
