The Research Area 2 of the CGG (Chair: Prof. Dr. Birgit Pfau-Effinger) organizes a CGG Workshop for Doctoral Students
'Theories, Concepts and Research about Work and Welfare States' with Professor Neil Gilbert, PhD, University of California, Berkeley
Wednesday, December 7, 2016, 16:00-18:00, Room 250, Allende-Platz 1
Prof. Gilbert will stay at the CGG as Visiting Professor from December 5-9, 2016. He is ‘Milton and Gertrude Chernin Professor of Social Welfare and Social Services’ at the University of California, Berkeley, and Director of several research institutes of the University. He is a social scientist with high international reputation in comparative Sociology and Social Policy research. He has published many articles in high ranking international journals and book series.
We invite Doctoral Students to present their dissertation concept or the concept for an article in an international journal and receive comments from Professor Neil Gilbert. Also, all other doctoral students and senior researchers are welcome who would like to listen to the presentations and contribute to the discussion.
If you are interested to present a paper or dissertation concept, please send us an abstract of 250-300 words until November 22 (to Thordis.Reimer@wiso.uni-hamburg.de(thordis.reimer"AT"wiso.uni-hamburg.de)). We will inform you until November 26 if you are selected for presentation.
