What's new about hroot 3.1?
- Responsive Design
- General performance improvement
- Data protection standards according to the latest EU General Data Protection Regulation
Responsive Design
We have improved hroot's accessibility on several devices (e.g. phones, tablets). Please have a look at our new design on our demo server: https://hroot-demo.wiso.uni-hamburg.de/
General performance improvement
We have added a bunch of new functions like an automatic waiting-list, an option for blacklisting emails or student numbers, and editable text templates in the admin area. Several functions have been improved to use JavaScript for a faster user experience. Additionally, we have introduced new export features.
EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
GDPR conformity ("right to be forgotten") is guaranteed by four delete options of user data:
-
Block user: Users will be marked as blocked - they can't log in anymore, but all data remain in the system (blocking can be removed later). Blocked users will appear on lists of assigned users, tagged as crossed out.
-
Delete user: Users' personal data will be removed permanently, but users still appear in sessions as anonymous. So participation information will be kept without identifying the user.
-
Delete and blacklist user: Users' personal data will be removed permanently and the email will be blacklisted, but users still appear in sessions as anonymous. So participation information will be kept without identifying the user.
-
Erase all user related information: All user data will be deleted permanently, so that the information is removed from the sessions' history.
