ISSIE - Initializing Sustainable Social Innovations and Entrepreneurship
Climate change, poverty, lack of educational opportunities in the face of many technological advances: the challenges facing society are as numerous and diverse as the potential solutions. The project Initializing Sustainable Social Innovations and Entrepreneurship, funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), aims to further develop social innovations at the University of Hamburg. This includes important questions such as how social innovation can be promoted in teaching and how the interest of students and staff in this start-up area can be increased.
"Teachers and start-up advisors are important multipliers at universities, as they can inspire and advise students on setting up social innovations in different contexts. That is why we are focusing on them in the first phase," explains Prof. Dr. Jana-Michaela Timm, project leader and professor of business administration with a focus on sustainable investment and management.
The new project at the University of Hamburg also involves cooperation with the Hamburg Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship, the company Spice VR and Hamburg foundations. As a founding member of the Hamburg Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship, it is important for the University of Hamburg to promote sustainable social development throughout the region.
