Dr. Wiebke Wemheuer-Vogelaar (Free University of Berlin) will give a guest lecture this Tuesday on "Teaching Global International Relations”. The lecture takes place in the context of Prof. Dr. Antje Wiener's BA seminar "International Relations Theory".

Wiebke Wemheuer-Vogelaar is the postdoctoral fellow in the DFG-funded project (2016-2019) "Global Pathways: Knowledge Diffusion in International Relations Research". Her expertise lies in the sociology of IR and the debate on Western-centrism in the discipline. Her dissertation which is about to be completed, investigates the mechanisms of translating local sources of knowledge into IR theories. Next to the FU-based project, she is Principal Investigator of the TRIP “Global Pathways” Project at the College of William and Mary, which analyzes local IR journals from China and Mexico in the same way as is anticipated for the new project. Together with Dr. Ingo Peters, she has published an edited volume on “Studying the Global Discipline” (Palgrave 2016).
