Prof. Dr. Maennig Retires from the Department of Economics

Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Maennig (Professor of Economic Policy) will leave the Department of Economics upon his retirement on 30 September 2026.

Prof. Dr. Maennig was appointed to his professorship in 1993. His main research areas are economic policy, urban and real estate economics, sports economics, and transport economics.

The Department would like to thank Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Maennig for his many years of dedicated service to the Department of Economics, and in particular for his commitment to teaching. Through his numerous publications and strong media presence, he has communicated his research topics to a broad public audience.

The Department of Economics wishes Prof. Dr. Maennig all the very best for this new chapter in his life!
