31 May 2022
Unemployment is considered the main cause of income poverty and deprivation. Over the past decades, however, the share of working poor has also increased in Europe. In this article, Fridolin Wolf, Henning Lohmann and Petra Böhnke investigate whether the living standards of the working poor and the unemployed differ in Europe and which economic, structural and institutional factors influence the differences in living standards.
The article has been published by the journal European Societies (open access) and can be accessed here.
