Experiences of poverty in childhood curtail life chances and increase the likelihood of being poor in adulthood as well. What contributes to the perpetuation of poverty across generations and what can prevent it? In order to find answers to this question, the article sheds light on the interplay of family, social networks, and socio-spatial and institutional contexts.
