Course Choice
As an exchange student you are going to be enrolled in one of our programs, depending on the partnership contract your home university has signed with Universität Hamburg (see your Letter of Acceptance).
You should pay attention to your academic level when choosing courses: As a Bachelor student you cannot take any courses from Master programs; and as a Master student you cannot take Bachelor-level courses.
The course catalog ("Vorlesungsverzeichnis") is usually published:
- For the Winter Term (starts in October): by the middle of August
- For the Summer Term (starts in April): by the middle of February
The course offer, and especially details like times or room numbers can always change until the start of the term.
If your home university requests that you choose your courses (Learning Agreement) prior to the official course catalogue is published, please refer to the course catalog of the last corresponding term (winter or summer) and choose your courses from there, to create the Learning Agreement "Before arrival: part I". You will have to update your choice and officially select courses after the course catalog has been published for your exchange semester.
