AOM 2024 – Innovating for the Future
16. August 2024
The 84th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management took place from 9-13 August 2024 in Chicago, IL, USA. The conference showcased various engaging formats, including regular paper sessions, innovative professional development workshops, and interactive panel discussions led by leading scholars and practitioners in the field.
Highlighting the Chair's contributions to sustainability research, doctoral researcher Theresa Rötzel presented the paper "Sustainability Transformation or Utopia? The Role of Organizational Practices for Resolving Tensions." Co-authored with Prof. Dr. Timo Busch and fellow doctoral researcher Carolin Weber, this paper was nominated for the Best Paper Award in the Organization and Natural Environment (ONE) division. Dr. Tanja Ohlson, former Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair until last year, was also nominated and received the Best Paper Award for the paper "How Sustainable Shareholders Use Indirect Strategies to Influence Companies". We congratulate her and her co-authors on this achievement!
In addition, Theresa Rötzel participated in the ONE PhD consortium. This experience allowed her to engage with fellow doctoral candidates from universities around the globe, share her research insights, and benefit from discussions with senior scholars. Key topics included publishing, teaching in sustainability, career pathways, and the impact of research in the sustainability domain.
The conference not only provided a platform for showcasing innovative research but also fostered valuable networking opportunities. Our team members are already looking forward to the next AOM conference, which will take place in Kopenhagen in 2025.
