On the hundredth anniversary “to the day” of Max Weber’s seminal lecture ‘Politics as a Vocation’ this conference explores its themes for the 21st century. The ethics of political violence, the nature of political responsibility, the dynamics of professionalization and partisanships. These themes will be explored by political scientists and historians along with people who have experience of Weberian dilemmas at the cutting edge of politics.
