The group's aim is to investigate and better our understanding of institutional changes, focusing on those changes that are "big" and can potentially unsettle the societal structure.

The research unit consists of a diverse and interdisciplinary group of people from the fields of Economics, Political Science, and Sociology.

The group has developed a common framework to investigate big structural changes, and deals with the topic in seven subprojects.
