About us

Population aging presents many industrialised countries with profound economic and social policy challenges. Our research examines the consequences of these trends for labour markets, health and long-term care systems and the stability of social security systems. Two key areas are central to this work: on the one hand we analyse the functioning of health and long-term care markets, on the other hand, we investigate the role of social norms, individual preferences and non-monetary working conditions in employment decisions and labour market processes. These research questions are addressed, among other initiatives, within the scope of the ERC Consolidator Grant 'MORETHANMONEY'. Against the backdrop of growing labour shortages, the findings of this research are becoming increasingly important for policymakers.
