Professor Kesternich’s research areas are:

• the impact of nonmonetary incentives on the health and labor markets, for example, the influence of professional norms on medical decisions;
• the long-term effects on health of adverse events such as hunger and war;
• consumer preferences and provider conduct on the health and nursing care markets.
