Now finally released: The new commentary on the constitution of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg! This is considered by many federal states to be a model for central issues of the future, such as data protection law, budgetary and electoral law, or direct democratic elements. It was therefore time to present a modern constitutional commentary that takes up the latest developments. This commentary joins and completes the collection of hand commentaries on the constitutions of the 16 German states published by Nomos Verlag. The commentary is the work of many authors and reflects the diversity of views in science and practice. In particular, the additions to the preamble adopted in 2023, the guarantee of affordable housing and the commitment to honorary office have been taken into account.

Prof. Dr. Kai-Oliver Knops as well as Dr. Steffen P.J. Jänicke, D.E.A. (Montpellier) have recently edited the new commentary on the Constitution of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, which was published by Nomos Verlag.
