The aim of the meeting is to discuss and further develop a key concept of the first Hamburg Climate Futures Outlook, namely the Global Opportunity Structure for Climate Action. This will be done on the basis of a draft paper that provides further detail on the concept and a series of inputs from discussants with different disciplinary backgrounds. The event is planned as the opening panel of an ongoing discussion on the subject of global societal agency towards decarbonization. It seeks to bring together scholars from International Relations, transitions studies and social science climate research.
