About this Event
The idea of Global IR calls for a more inclusive and pluralistic approach to international studies, broadly defined to include international relations and area/regional studies from an multi-thematic and multi-disciplinary perspective. Global IR is not only a normative project, but aims to enrich understanding and explanation in international studies by incorporating the diversity that actually exists in world, including issues related to race, gender, and postcolonial/decolonial identity. Join us for a series of dialogues about these issues with international studies scholars from around the world.
This event is organized in two parts, each highlighting remarks from the panelists, a discussion among the panelists facilitated by the moderator, and an audience Q&A. SIS Dean Christine BN Chin will make opening remarks at the beginning of the session.
- Part I:
- Moderator: SIS professor Amitav Acharya
- Panelists: Cynthia Enloe, Clark University and Michael Barnett, George Washington University
- Part II:
