Book Launch Event: Contesting the WorldProf. Wiener hosts on Nov 11 in Cambridge
17 October 2024
On November 11th, 6:00-7:00 PM, Antje Wiener will launch her new book “Contesting the World Norm Research in Theory and Practice”, co-authored with Phil Orchard at Pavilion Room, Hughes Hall, Cambridge. Prof. Antje Wiener PhD expects “a stimulating discussion where the editors, and other invited panellists will explore different perspectives and challenge conventional wisdom”. Contesting the World offers a fresh perspective on norms research, focusing on ideas, social facts, norm adaptation, and the shift towards viewing norms as processes. It is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in understanding the complexities of norms and their impact on international relations – and the ever-changing world of global politics.
For the book launch, Prof. Wiener will be joined by Phil Orchard (online) to introduce the book. A round table discussion, chaired by Law Fellow, Markus Gehring will follow, with colleagues from POLIS, including Professor Mette Eilstrup-Sangiovanni and Assistant Professor Giovanni Mantilla, to discuss some of the key themes. There will be an opportunity for networking over drinks and light refreshments from 7 pm.
Registration is possible through the website of the Hughes Hall of the University of Cambridge: https://www.hughes.cam.ac.uk/about/events/book-launch-contesting-the-world/ .
