Juliane A. Lischka has held he position of Professor of Digital Journalism at the University of Hamburg since 2020. She was most recently a senior assistant in the Division of Media Economics & Management at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at the University of Zurich (UZH). She completed her doctorate at UZH in 2014.
Since then, she has been a fellow of the Digital Society Initiative at UZH and a research fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (University of Oxford), at Cardiff University, and at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. She also has been a visiting professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
She studied communication science, psychology, and linguistics at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena and advertising at Michigan State University. After completing her studies, she worked for several years as a project manager in an international market research institute.
