Juliane A. Lischka has held the position as Professor of Journalism and Communication Studies, esp. Digital Journalism, at Universität Hamburg since September 2020. She previously was a senior assistant at the Department for Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at Universität Zürich in the ‘Media Economics & Management’ division. She completed her doctorate at Universität Zürich in 2014. Subsequently, she was a Visiting Fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford, at Cardiff University, and at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich, as well as a Visiting Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
Her research and teaching focuses on journalism in the digital and social media age. Her research interests include digitalisation strategies and the innovative capacity of news organisations, the integration of technology skills into journalistic job profiles, news content on social media platforms, and news recommender systems.
