What is I-week?
The International Week on Sustainability focuses on international views and perspectives on corporate sustainability, social and environmental reporting, and business strategy for sustainability.
I-week is a 3ECTS course which is held annually at the University of Antwerp. It brings students together from all over the world in a hybrid setting.
The course consists of 5 intense days of presentations, discussions and workshops during which students are exposed to international academics, sustainability experts and CEOs (more information).
Why?
- To embed international exposure and sustainabilty in the curriculum.
- To engage students in hands-on learning experience.
- To stimulate interrnational cooperation and integration between students.
Learning goals
Students are able to:
- relate the overarching theme of the international week to the knowledge acquired in the different areas of business administration and business economics
- view the overarching theme and these areas from an international perspective
- apply gained knowledge in an international team with the acquired intercultural skills
- produce a well-structured short report and video or PowerPoint presentation in English, in which creativity and the capacity to synthesize are key
- reflect ethically and critically on your topic within sustainability

- Who can apply: Bachelor students in the third year or later and Master students
- Where: University of Antwerp, Belgium; in person or online
- When: Monday 18 March to Friday 22 March 2024 (and in March each year)
- Online introductory sessions: March 1, 8 and 15; from CET 13:00 to CET 15:00
- Costs: €185 administration fee. Fee waived for first 20 Hamburg students in 2024
- Credits: 3 ECTS

- a motivational letter (max. 1 page) with the state whether you want to take part online or in person (in German)
- language certificate from the Language Center of our university (at least B2 according to CEFR)
- CV (German or English)
- Bachelor students: a screenshot of your completed courses including grades and your study average ("Leistungsübersicht") from STiNE
- Master students: a scan of your Bachelor diploma with your completed courses including grades and your final study average
- Immatrikulationsbescheinigung
