Sarah Carroux recently joined our team at the Chair of Management and Sustainability as a full-time doctoral researcher. Her research interests include sustainable finance with a strong focus on impact investing, the business case for sustainability and sustainable business models.
After completing her Bachelor of Arts in economics at Smith College in the United States, Sarah collected four years of work experience, predominantly in Germany in the field of product management. Driven by the desire to study the business case for sustainability in greater depth, Sarah enrolled in the University of Hamburg’s Master’s degree program in International Business and Sustainability (MIBAS) in 2014.
Her master’s thesis titled “Patterns for Sustainable Business Model Innovation: creating a Pattern Taxonomy for Business Model Innovation in the Sustainability Context”, which she submitted in July 2017, is an integral part of an ongoing research project launched by Florian Lüdeke-Freund and Alexandre Joyce, on sustainable business model patterns. Related to this research, together with the two aforementioned researchers, as well as Henning Breuer and Lorenzo Massa, Sarah is in the process of publishing her first academic journal article.
