SmartRegion PellwormMIBAS student excursion

Prof. Dr. Timo Busch and a group of students from the MIBAS (Master of International Business and Sustainability) made an excursion to the SmartRegion prject on the island Pellworm.
Pellworm has one of the largest hybrid renewable energy plants in Europe. It combines photovoltaic and wind energy. Thus it is an ideal location for smart grids.

The trip started with a visit of the Christian Jensen Kolleg in Breklum, an educational center for sustainability. The students had the opportunity to experience what sustainability means for a hotel and to visit the exhibition "climate change - climate justice - climate protection". On the next day the group attended a guided tour through the hybrid renewable energy plant with an extra presentation of energy storage unit.
