Short bio

Gunnar Friede was an external PhD student at the School of Business, Economics and Social Science of the University of Hamburg. He completed his doctoral thesis at the chair of Management and Sustainability in 2019.

Gunnar works in the finance industry for more than 20 years. He is a portfolio manager for investment funds and has a special focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects. He manages multi-assets funds at DWS Group and is responsible for ESG in DWS’ Multi Asset & Solutions Group.

The trained banker (“Bankkaufmann”) holds a master's degree („Diplomkaufmann“) in Business Administration from Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft, Berlin. He is a Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA) and Certified International Investment Analyst (CIIA).
