Knowledge Exchange
The Chair of Science Studies and Innovation Research was established as part of the Excellence Strategy at the University of Hamburg. As a Nucleus Professor and Director of the Knowledge Exchange Agency, Sabine Maasen helps to establish the Third Mission at our comprehensive university across all eight of our faculties, working alongside colleagues, advisory bodies, and actors from politics, business, education, and society. Drawing on her expertise in science-society relations and in institution-building, the chair has co-created a broad yet focused concept of knowledge exchange that covers expertise, engagement, and entrepreneurship (the Triple E model). Interpreting the German term "transfer" as "knowledge exchange" (non-linear and interactive), our knowledge exchange activities contribute to our university's mission: Innovating and cooperating for a sustainable future in a digital age.
