In the framework oft he Horizon 2020 programme, the COST action proposal “Accelerating Global science In Tsunami HAzard and Risk analysis (AGITHAR)” has been granted.
This interdisciplinary COST action will use the specific tools of COST, namely, workshops, networking, exchange of experts, to determine gaps in scientific knowledge, methodological approaches and tools in order to achieve robust tsunami hazard and risk assessment across a variety of tsunami sources and to derive and agree on best practices for probabilistic tsunami hazard and risk assessment through discussion by a large group of practitioners.
The project is led by Prof. Dr. Jörn Behrens. Simone Rödder heads the work package “Interdisciplinary Interaction”. As part of this, a tandem master’s project (tsunami scientist, social scientist) will be devoted to observe, detect, and document specific patterns of interdisciplinary interaction. The COST Action will be launched in spring 2019.
