About us
The staff of the professorship are involved in the empirical analysis of attitudes and behaviour in modern societies with a special focus on ecological aspects and social sustainability. The staff are also involved in researching internal migration processes, commuting practices, residential location decisions and their effects on individuals and societies.
The professorship is part of a ‘Sustainability’ cluster within the social sciences at Universität Hamburg, which offers events and courses for students in the social sciences at all levels. The main focus is on teaching and developing methodological approaches to examining sustainability in societies. Here, our work is theory-based and follows micro-sociological approaches.
