Wir heißen Prof. Dr. Federico Zuolo von der Universität Genua (IT) herzlich willkommen, der in den Monaten Juni bis August 2025 in Hamburg forschen wird.
Die neue Debatte über zivilen Ungehorsam ist geprägt von der Frage, ob auch „unzivile“ Aktionen demokratische Legitimität beanspruchen können. Federico Zuolos Forschungsprojekt untersucht, ob die Unterscheidung zwischen zivilem Ungehorsam und „direkter Aktion“ hier für Klarheit und Orientierung sorgen kann. Zuolo ist Associate Professor an der Universität Genua und war bereits 2016 für ein Jahr Humboldt-Fellow an der Professur für Politische Theorie der Universität Hamburg.

We warmly welcome Prof Dr Federico Zuolo from the University of Genoa (IT), who will be conducting research in Hamburg in June to August 2025.
The new debate on civil disobedience is characterised by the question of whether ‘uncivil’ actions can also claim democratic legitimacy. Federico Zuolo's research project investigates whether the distinction between civil disobedience and ‘direct action’ can provide clarity and orientation in this regard. Zuolo is an Associate Professor at the University of Genoa and was a Humboldt Fellow at the Chair of Political Theory at the University of Hamburg for one year in 2016.
