I am a postdoctoral researcher in the project Reclaiming the State’s Security Promise from the Perspective of Statelessness, working with Prof. Dr. Eray Çaylı at the University of Hamburg. My doctoral dissertation in the Department of Anthropology at Princeton University explores the deployment of childhood as a central technology of governance through which authoritarian neoliberalism in Turkey configures regimes of protection, political belonging, and exclusion along racialised and classed lines. Spanning childhood studies, legal and political anthropology, and critical disaster studies, my research advances collaborative and participatory methodologies, including creative forms of ethnographic knowledge production through filmmaking, photography, and other participatory media.
