About us
The Professorship of Financial Economics (Derivatives) works both in research and teaching on stochastic modelling and statistical analyses of financial markets.
In research we focus on central issues in mathematical finance and behavioral finance.
We focus on derivatives for enterprise risk management and as a product for retail customers, for example as part of insurance policies. Especially, we are concerned with pricing of derivative financial products. Furthermore, we deal with theoretical and empirical issues in finance, in particular the modelling and the analysis of bounded rational participants of financial markets.
In teaching, we offer courses in statistics and econometrics focusing on the empirical analysis of financial markets.
In addition, we provide courses on valuation of derivatives and risk management via derivative financial instruments for enterprises and for retail customers.
