Theses

The two chairs offer the possibility to write a final thesis on selected subjects and problems.

The topic of the final thesis should be related to the publications and research fields of the chairs or to the proposed subjects. It is possible to suggest own topics as well. Please contact the research assistants during the courses or via e-mail. If you are not sure which person to contact, please write an e-mail to the assistant of the chairs: sekretariat-bassen-lopatta.wiso@uni-hamburg.de. Please consider whether you want to write a theoretical-conceptual or an empirical (quantitative/qualitative) thesis. If you wish to write an empirical thesis, we recommend taking at least one course in econometrics. For the Master of International Business and Sustainability (MIBAS) we have a seperate set of topic suggestions.

If you are interested in writing a final thesis at our chairs, please apply in written form with a transcript of records and a one-page exposé of your topic. Based on your application, we will consider internally if we have enough capacity available to supervise your thesis. A registration via the office for student affairs can only take place when you received the confirmation of a supervisor. The examination regulations contain information regarding the scope and time for the final theses.

The next steps will be agreed upon with the supervisor.
