From 11-13 May 2022, the PhD students Theresa Spandel and Raphael Tietmeyer attended the 44th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) in Bergen, Norway. Theresa Spandel presented her single-author paper "Investigating Competing Rationals for SDG Reporting" and Raphael Tietmeyer presented his research on "ESG Disclosure and Refinancing Risk". Both received very useful feedback and were able to discuss their current projects with other academics in their research field of sustainability accounting.
Before the conference, Theresa Spandel was also invited to attend the Association's Doctoral Colloquium, which provided an opportunity for her to gain in-depth feedback on her paper "Capital Market Reactions to ESG Materiality Classifications" from excellent faculty and PhD students.
After years of online events, both Theresa and Raphael were particularly delighted to attend the congress in person and to engage with the research community during the conference! The congress took place in several stunning venues of Bergen, such as the Grieghallen and Håkonshalle.
