Message. International Journal for Journalism

The journal Message has been published at Universität Hamburg since 2012. Its substantive focus — quality journalism in an international perspective and the connection between research in communications and practice in the media — is as unique as the editorial model: Message is edited by young scholars who link their dissertation work with editing the journal.

Message has been online-only since 2015 (www.message-online.com). Master’s students contribute journalistic works from practical seminars for publication. In this sense, Message as a “teaching magazine” is also a laboratory for new ways of presenting information in multimedia and crossmedia formats.
