Chair of Professor Posch - Methods in Economics
The Chair develops and teaches methodological basics, i.e. concepts, techniques and approaches for modelling and solving dynamic relationships in economics. These models provide a deeper, structual answer of important economic questions through qualitative and quantitative statements with the aim of gaining new insights. In this context the chair follows an interdisciplinary approach of economics by combining the fields of mathematics, econometrics, finance and informatics. The main focus of research (link) and teaching (link) lies on mathematical and numerical, i.e. computer based, approaches.
The Team of the Chair consists of student and academic workers, as well as post docs, the professor and the secretariat. It mainly supports students with a major or minor in economics and we are happy to answer your questions and suggestions. Please inform yourself about the office hours and at best arrange an appointment with Miss Kienle (office).
