About us
Welcome to the Assistant Professorship in Sociology, Violence and Security. Established at the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences in August 2021, the professorship advances innovative analytical frameworks for understanding security and insecurity within contemporary social transformations.
Our research integrates multiple complementary domains: violence and security studies, migration and border regime analysis, urban sociology, and future studies. Through this interdisciplinary lens, we investigate pressing societal challenges while developing novel methodological and theoretical approaches to examine them. Our work bridges theoretical insights with empirical research to advance critical perspectives on security dynamics and explore pathways for fundamental social transformation.
