Since Mai 2019, Julian Jäger is research assistant at the Chair for labor, family, migration, and gender economics (Prof. Dr. Miriam Beblo).
In 2015, he graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy and Economics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In his Bachelor thesis, he analyzed the concept of care work as unpaid labor in the context of modern theories on exploitation.
After that, he studied the M.Sc. „Politics, Economics, Philosophy“ at Universität Hamburg. In March 2019, he completed his degree with an empirical thesis on the role of welfare politics and authoritarianism for right-wing populist voting in the EU.
During his studies, he spent a semester abroad at Vilnius University and two semesters at University of Warsaw.
The title of his PhD thesis is „Perceptions and Attitudes toward Inequality and Immigration in Europe“.
His research focuses on the following areas:
