2nd PUNO Student Conference on
"Lasting Impact – Current Challenges in Public and Nonprofit Research“
Winter Semester 2018/19
The student conference is an interdisciplinary research conference from students for students within the master’s program 'Interdisciplinary Public and Nonprofit Studies (PUNO)‘ and is expected to take place on 10./11.01.2019. Goal of the student conference is to provide students with the opportunity to gain experience in doing research work. Research staff who wish to present new research proposals are also welcome. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts is 26.11.2018.
Who can submit? All master’s students or research staff interested in the field of public and nonprofit studies, in particular, students of the master’s program PUNO and related programs of the Department of Socioeconomics or the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences: e.g. Master in International Business and Sustainability (MIBAS), Labor, Economy and Society (AWG), Health Economics & Health Care Management (HEHCM), Economics (ECON), Politics, Economics, Philosophy (PEP), Human Resource Management (HRM), Sociology, Political Sciences, and others.
Interesting topics are for example: changes in public service, dealing with current societal challenges, such as demographic change, integration of refugees into education, changes in nonprofit research.
Submissions are selected by lecturers/research staff based on a double-blind review process. The scientific quality of the abstract is assessed. In the PUNO master's program, students receive 6 ECTS if the abstract is accepted and a presentation is held at the conference (in English). Accepted contributions are advised by 14.12.2018 and have to be confirmed within two days. Failing to appear at the conference will result in zero credit points.
If you already have submitted a contribution to one of the following conferences and have been accepted, you only have to register and submit an abstract. Conferences in the field of nonprofit management: ARNOVA, ISTR, and ERNOP. Conferences in the field of public management: EGPA, IRSPM, and EURAM (in particular SIG public and nonprofit management).
Deadline: If you are interested in participating at the conference, please send an abstract containing 4,000-6,000 words (incl. references and appendices) until 26.11.2018 to Meikel Soliman (contact).
