‘Globalisation, Institutions and Markets’

The starting point of the lecture series is the recent development during which principles of the market and economic efficiency and neo-liberal ideas about the individual and its relationship to the state were in part strengthened in the main institutions of European societies, like the markets and the surrounding institutions, the labour markets and the welfare states. Processes of globalisation and discourses about globalisation have contributed to this development. The main aim of the lecture series is to analyse this development and the impact on institutional change.
