Application and Admission

Prerequisite for admission to the Master’s programme Economics (M.Sc.) at the University of Hamburg is a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent). 

Depending on the profile of your primary degree, i.e. your previous higher education, there are four application categories with its respective admission requirements. Please click on the link which is suitable to your academic background and find out about the repective admission requirements and how to apply for the M.Sc. Economics:

  1. Applicants with a degree in “Economics” or “Volkswirtschaftslehre” click here
  2. Applicants with a degree which includes advanced training in eonomics click here  
  3. Applicants with a degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Economics, Statistics or equivalent click here  
  4. Applicants with a degree in Science, Social Science or Business Studies click here

 Admission requirements are still subject to the approval by the university management.
