The focus of our research and development lies in the economic analysis of law. This has to be understood as the economic analysis of the functionality and the impact of Law and Regulations. In this context we are currently examining topics like smoking, marketing to children and gambling, looking at their social consequences. The aim of these researches is to be able to make law-making propositions which lead to an optimal economic exposure. The results of those researches are then conveyed to students of the focus course “Economic analysis of Law”.

The range of teaching is supplemented by the focus course “Commercial Law” where the essential fields of Private Law, which is Corporate- and Labour Law, are discussed.
